KISS : Keep It Sexy, Stupid
On July - 26 - 2009
Editors: This article has been edited numerous times.
Up until a couple of days ago the greatest number of reads scored by one of my Bleacher articles was 1,820. That was a piece on NASCAR, and I really think you should read it right now; you'll be so glad you did.
The lowest number of reads I've scored is 18, and my typical score is usually between 200-300.
For me, the whole point of writing is to be read. Does that make sense?
So I set out to write an article that would really rack up the numbers and get the counter spinning.
The Bleacher ...

Some of the Worlds’ greatest playground basketball players have come out of New York City. Hoop stars like Connie Hawkins, Nate “Tiny” Archibald, Pop Gates, Jack DeFares, John Isaacs, Carl Green, etc.
There was another playground basketball player visiting their city recently. President Barack Obama was there to address the NAACP on their 100th Anniversary.
He didn’t bring back memories of those great players. The left-handed jump shooter’s cross-over move to the podium in the ‘Big Apple’ made Earl Monroe’s move look mediocre.
President Obama made it clear from the very beginning of his 37-minute speech, that his recent historical move into the ...
Why Worry, Just Like It!
On July - 26 - 2009
When one leaves one's mind to its spontaneous course of action, but later reminisces on it in a rationalistic way, one would find no particular logic or order in the way the synapses fired.
Indeed our thought process has not been characterised. Perhaps it is completely random and beyond our reach, and perhaps it lends itself only to statistical analysis of data collected of objective actions. Perhaps it is chaotic and is deterministic, but an unpredictable determinism, and who knows, the fractional dimensional nature of the brain may someday be encompassed in a non-linear differential equation.
Whatever it is, this wondorous modus ...
Remember the Titans: The Cases of Pacman Jones and Ben Roethlisberger
On July - 26 - 2009
Call me campy or sentimental or whatever you need to say in order to denigrate what I have to say, with generalizations about why you think you're strong-minded and I'm weak minded.
Because if you do, I don't care what you think.
Obviously, I'm referring to an abstract stereotype of potential criticism of my views. So, you shouldn't take it personally, unless you consciously and actively act that way.
The bottom line is however that racism still permeates our society, and if you think the election of Barack Obama has made it better—in the case of some people, it has made it worse.

Dear Sports Fans: Please Keep Your Hands to Yourselves at All Times
On July - 25 - 2009
On Thursday night, I attended the first of a four-game series between the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
My dad had purchased primo seats—third row behind the Angels' dugout—and the game turned out to be a thrilling affair.
The Angels pulled out their league-leading 31st come-from-behind victory when catcher Mike Napoli hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Fortunately, that made up for the odd turn my night took the inning before.
With two men on, one out, and the Angels trailing by two runs in the bottom of the ninth, shortstop Erick Aybar laced a ...
Sporting Greats: Rays of Hope
On July - 25 - 2009
I would like to thank Blaine Spence, Rocky Getters, and Leroy Watson for helping me with this article.
I doubt there are many people who would disagree with this statement: The world is in a gloomy state.
Dishonest, sleazy politicians left, right, and centre; news stations constantly screaming at us to PANIIIIIIIIIIC!!!, and it doesn't matter what about—be it the economic recession (which will recover), the swine flu pandemic (which is relatively mild, all things considered), or the number of lost puppies on the streets, it is an insignificant detail—just so long as we continue watching that particular station.
Nothing like a bit of drama to ...
Thanks for Nothing, ESPN: The Exploitation of Erin Andrews
On July - 25 - 2009
Okay, so by now most of you are familiar with the Erin Andrews video scandal that is currently rearing its ugly head around the world of sports.
No? Well if you aren't, here's a quick rundown.
Andrews is an American sportscaster who works for ESPN as a sideline reporter for various sporting events. It also just so happens that Andrews is a strikingly attractive woman who was named as the sexiest sportscaster in the United States by Playboy Magazine last year.
Yes, there is a list.
Andrews has recently found herself as the subject of a voyeuristic video filmed by a Peeping Tom that ...
Airing My Complaints about Roger Goodell
On July - 24 - 2009
As I have determined throughout the past three years of Roger Goodell's time as commissioner, Roger Goodell does not give a damn about NFL fans (ex, tinkering with NFL Draft, wanting to move Super Bowl to London), or NFL players and Civil Rights (ex, Pacman Jones, Brady Rule), or the integrity of the game (ex, Spygate).
If you have even one decent bone in your body, you will see that this is a moral imperative for all NFL fans, writers, and players that cannot be ignored or rationalized with ideas that, if you get what you want then it does ...
