It’s Still the Greatest Bowling I’ve Ever Seen
On November - 2 - 2009
Over six months ago, I wrote an article listing my personal top ten sports events I'd like to see on DVD that have not been released yet. All were hockey, baseball, and football games with the exception of the legendary April 4, 1970 final game of the Firestone Tournament of Champions Professional Bowling Tournament.
So imagine my surprise and delight to find that ESPN Classic channel was showing that tournament again yesterday and this afternoon. It was the first time I had seen it since I saw it live as a teenager, 39 years ago, and I found it just ...
St. Paul Saints Open Academy In Lakeville
On November - 2 - 2009
One of the most successful independent franchises, the St. Paul Saints, are now expanding their reach into the sporting community.
Over 90 players have signed with MLB franchises since the Saints inaugural season in 1993, due in large part to the players skill and the tireless work ethic of the coaches and field managers.
Being an established franchise with the tools to cross-promote through their ability to put a successful product on the field, while gaining a strong support system in their community, has now giving them an opportunity to embark on this new undertaking.
A way to give back to the fans ...

The recent World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees has led me to thinking. That being about the misery of New York Mets fans, including Jon Stewart of The Daily ...

On November - 1 - 2009
I have just about had it with ESPN.
On one hand, I can imagine that ESPN employs respectable people, yet the big picture of ESPN is that ESPN is nothing more than propaganda that only serves to divide people in many ways, including racial lines.
ESPN is nothing more than yellow journalism and not in a harmless or entertaining way.
On one hand, you'll get hacks that laugh at distraught fans (see, College GameDay); on the other hand you'll get more hacks that washed out from some school yet somehow insinuate themselves into places that they don't belong (see, cast of Around The Horn ).
Ooh, but we ...
Oakland Raiders: The Addiction Of Loss, The Recovery Of Win
On November - 1 - 2009
Post-game Note: There was dramatic improvement. An indication that the patterns will be changed, soon. JR's ratio was consistent and far better in this game. Keep the faith, Raider Nation.
Addictions can sap the life out of a man, his family and his friends. Addictions can sap life out of life. An addiction to losing can sap the energy and life out of a team of talented professional football players such as the Oakland Raiders.
Dealing with the reality of a situation is what I believe in. After looking at the data for the past five years, I saw a losing pattern ...
