Oakland Raiders Who Play Beyond the Love Of Money

By Damali Binta Yael On April - 7 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
This article is designed to stimulate a process to uncover those Oakland Raiders who are in the game for the love of money, and solely for that reason. Have you ever gotten the feeling that some of these guys do what it takes to get the job, then after they get the job they "lay back and relax"? Some of them just don't seem to care about winning. If the young NFL players are in professional football solely for the love of money, you can be sure that the quality of the game will never be the same. If this is the case, ...

Tiger Woods Owes Us Nothing

By Jason Adamowicz On April - 5 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Hopefully we've reached the pinnacle of the absurdness that is The Tiger Woods Scandal.  Back in February, I stated Tiger doesn't owe us anything ( read A Message To Tiger , in case you missed it). Since then, everyone under the sun has weighed in on what Tiger needs to say or do.  Even Arnold Palmer urged Tiger to open up.  I have one question to those who believe Eldrick should be an open book for all to read: Why? Let me debunk some of the reasoning held by those that believe Tiger owes us an explanation. The ...
When the NFL’s Injury and Safety Panel released a report last month citing an 88 percent higher frequency of ACL injuries for players on modern synthetic surfaces—like FieldTurf—even casual football fans took the news with little surprise. In the short time that teams have been playing and practicing on surfaces like FieldTurf, the stigma of such grounds yielding a greater number of injuries to the lower extremities has already built in the popular conscious. Given the high rate of ACL injury as a whole in college football—the Cleveland Clinic puts the probability at 16 percent during a four-year career—should universities be more ...
Paul Westhead probably doesn't care if the media calls him "bull headed." I just heard this tag on him a few minutes ago on television. I immediately thought that bull headed is probably what some people call Al Davis. Maybe that's what it takes these days. Why do I say this? Well, Westhead is the only coach so far in history who has won championships in both the NBA and the WNBA. This man has turned both men and women into champions. Another thing that made me think about Davis is that Westhead reportedly likes the "run and gun" game. He coaches his teams to ...
True friends are like running chairs. They are always there when you need them and ready to get dusted off and asked to travel 26.2 miles with you at a moments notice. Or something like that. Dick and Rick (Team Hoyt) have been having a lot of trouble the last few years with their running chair.  The chair that carried them through the most recent portion of their thousand-plus running events. According to the calendar, Dick, like all of us, is getting older as he will be turning 70 on June 1. Rick is not only getting older (48), but is ...
Today marks Duke basketball’s first Final Four appearance since 2004. There has been a good amount of talk recently regarding how Duke may have “saved” the Final Four from a ratings standpoint. Indeed, Duke has one of the largest fanbases nationally of any college basketball team and will thus be a big draw for CBS. However, CBS will see a true spike in the ratings from the legions of fans rooting against Duke. Honestly, why shouldn’t you be one of them? Why would anyone want to see this band of overhyped elitist brats from Durham win anything? It’s not as if ...

A Countdown of the 13 Best Sports Cities

By Alex Roberts On April - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
There are many ways to compare cities in America. You can speak of demographics, economics, or the cleanliness of the city. However, that is not the most important aspect of a city. A cities sports teams are. This is a countdown of the Top 13 cities for sports. I only counted the cities that had a sports team in the "big three" of American sports. (Baseball, Football, and Basketball). I used historical data as a means for judgment, and made a decision based off of that data. It in no way reflects which teams are on ...
