Edmonton Capitals Manager Resigns After On-Field Altercation

In an unfortunate incident during an Edmonton Capitals game against the Orange County Flyers, Capitals manager Brent Bowers has officially resigned from his duties.

Originally, Bowers was suspended for the remainder of the season, though while I am only speculating, Bowers' resignation was only a matter of time.

Specifically, the GBL upon concluding their investigation of the incidents at hand, decided that Bowers was suspended for his actions.  This meeting was at the GBL headquarters in San Francisco with Bowers and the Capitals' executive management.

Details of the meeting are obviously kept under wraps, unfortunately, the incident on the field was not—actions that included verbal abuse and anti-gay slurs.

According to the Golden League website, Bowers and company were not aware of the severity of the situation until they were brought to Head Office,

 “We were left with no option but to take this action which is supported by the Edmonton Capitals organization. The daily contribution made by umpires to our league and the fans is extremely valuable and they must be respect...
