New York’s diehard Jets fan, Carl Mayer, an ambulance chasing lawyer who had once worked for Ralph Nader, had his case against Bill Belichick thrown out by the United States Supreme Court on Monday. The highest court in the land had no comment on the case.

Mayer wanted to sue Bill Belichick for at least $185 million, claiming the NFL games were rigged. He had rationalized the suffering and humiliation Jets fans had to endure from the loss to the Patriots to arrive at his punitive compensation. Mayer felt his and all fans' $100 tickets were worthless after videotaping of practices came to light. Mayer had attended the opening game of 2007, which the New York Jets lost 38 to 14.

The United States Supreme Court deemed the suit frivolous this week.

Mayer contended that Patriot taping of the Jets at practice prior to the game entitled him to damages. His case earlier had appeared at the 3rd United States Circuit Court of Appeals and was also dismissed for lack of merit almost a year ago, and now his ...
