Much to the dismay of Christian conservatives and pretty much anyone of any faith, politicians from either side of the aisle and countless celebrities (Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise and R Kelly we’re looking at you), South Park has been on cable for 14 pee-your-pants funny seasons. Trey Parker, Matt Stone and their staff of writers have never shied away from controversy since first debuting in 1997. Their vehicle for social commentary and biting satirical slant has taken shots at every aspect of pop culture. Parker and Stone continue to push the limits of their genre and define themselves as independents by displaying the way they look at the world for all to see. Granted, they cross lines continuously (Have you seen the opening scene in the Dances With Smurfs episode? Good god) and are proud to offend even the most free-willed and independent thinkers. The backlash against Stone and Parker has been palpable.
