Is Lance Armstrong the Next Hero To Fall?

By Bill Cody On July - 22 - 2010
Sad news today. In the face of the a federal doping investigation, Lance Armstrong hired a criminal attorney. Of course he made the usual caveats. According to the AP, Armstrong made this statement, "Obviously, you need some legal counsel on this...I wouldn't read anything into it, I'm 100 percent confident that there will be a satisfactory resolution for me." Sounds like deja vu all over again to me. And not in a good way. The investigation was spurred by allegations from former teammate Floyd Landis. You remember Landis. He's the American that followed Armstrong onto the winner's stand at the Tour De France only to ...
Today on my radio it's LeBron, LeBron, LeBron. Why I don't know. Here's a guy that's won exactly no championships of any real value. I know, I know. He got that big time Ohio State High School Championship. Woowee! That puts the Prince right up there with the Girl's Softball Team from my high school. They hoisted one of those big boy State Championship trophies over their heads, too. Thing is, I like a player who wins something before they proclaim greatness. Or at the very least doesn't flame out twice in two years. The guy looked like a deer in the headlights against ...

Lance, Tiger, Alex: Is Everybody Cheating?

By Bill Cody On May - 20 - 2010
Turned on the radio this morning and caught the opening of the Jim Rome Show. The whole first hour was dedicated to the Floyd Landis story. In case you didn't hear it, disgraced cyclist Floyd Landis finally came clean. After years of claiming that he never cheated. After he said his dirty test was illegitimate and there was something wrong at the lab. Now Floyd is saying the exact opposite and taking it farther. Not only did he cheat to win the Tour De France. Everyone in cycling cheated, including Lance Armstrong. On Rome's show the e—mailers and callers came after Floyd hard. ...

HGH Positive Test: Is this a Game Changer?

By Bill Cody On February - 24 - 2010
ay's announcement that British Rugby player Terry Newton tested positive in November for HGH may be the biggest sports story to come out this week. As a boxing scribe here at Bleacher Report, I have probably spent as much time writing and blogging about PED and HGH testing as I have about events in the ring for much of the last four months. It's been a hot topic since the debate that has raged over Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s demand for Olympic style drug testing in his match with Manny Pacquiao. One of the reasons I have never taken "Money's" demand seriously is ...

Petros and Money Have The Best Show On Radio!

By Bill Cody On February - 17 - 2010
I'm gonna come clean right now. I spend waaay too much time listening to sports talk radio. So much so that I've considered going to a 12-step program to get over my addiction. It's not entirely my fault. I live in Los Angeles where a 10 mile jaunt down the Interstate can easily turn into a day trip and going to the store for a quart of milk needs to be planned out based on time considerations. Still I often listen to my favorite shows in the house and I could voice identify many national talking heads if they ever committed a crime ...
