Race Relations: The Cleveland Pro Superstar

The Cleveland metro area has more than 2 million people living in it. Of those people, 1.6 million are called "non-hispanic white" according to figures .  The perception of the greater Cleveland area is that it is predominantly white. In this case, perception is reality. Cleveland's pro franchises have had six superstars of note—from Jim Brown to LeBron James—that I want to discuss.  Brown retired at the age of 29 as the NFL's all-time leading rusher. I have been a fan of Tiger Woods in the only way I know him for years, and that is as a golfer. I am glad he is back; I think he will compete at the Masters and I wonder if one year he can win all four majors. The saying 'we are a forgiving nation' doesn't make sense to me. ...Brett Favre, the greatest retirement story ever, had surgery and it was in the third segment of ESPNEWS's never ending half and hour. It was sanwiched beyween Avery Johnson talking about the adjustments the Orlando Magic need to make and Tina Fay's sister, er, Sarah Palin, er, the Yankee/Ray highlights. The greatest franchise in MLB history won with two late runs. Did anyone else see the mistake when the ESPNEWS logo popped up in the middle of the Tiger Woods interview? Anyone else hear Tiger use the word gnarley?
